They are all adulterers like an oven heated by the baker, who ceases to stir up the fire from the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.

O that You had in the desert a wayfarers’ lodging place; that You might leave Your people and go from them! For all of them are adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

And I say, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Behold, I would wander far away, I would lodge in the wilderness.

Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshech, for I dwell among the tents of Kedar! Too long has my soul had its dwelling with those who hate peace.

With our wickedness we make the king glad, and the princes with our lies. And although we know the ordinance of You, that we who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Therefore what benefit was I then driving from the things of which I am now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.

Consequently, we are witnesses and approve the deeds of my fathers; because it was us who killed them, and we build their tombs.

And Saul was in hearty agreement with putting Stephen to death. And on that day a great persecution arose against the church in Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I also was standing by approving, and watching out for the cloaks of those who were slaying him.

And it will be, like people, like priest; so, You will punish them for their ways, and repay them for their deeds.

The days of punishment have come, the days of retribution have come; let Israel know this! The prophet is a fool, the inspired man is demented, because of the grossness of my iniquity, and because my hostility is so great.

They/We will not remain in Your land, but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and in Assyria they will eat unclean food.

For behold, we will go because of destruction; Egypt will gather them up, Memphis will bury us. Weeds will take over our treasures of silver; thorns will be in our tents.

We have gone deep in depravity as in the days of Gibeah; You will remember our iniquity, You will punish our sins.

May we return to You from whom we have deeply defected, O sons of Israel.

When You would heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, and the evil deeds of Samaria, for we deal falsely; the thief enters in, bandits raid outside.

In our filthiness is lewdness. Because You would have cleansed us, yet we are not clean, we will not be cleansed from our filthiness again, until You have spent Your wrath on us.

All of us are stubbornly rebellious, going about as a talebearer. We are bronze and iron; we, all of us, are corrupt. The bellows blow fiercely, the lead is consumed by the fire; in vain the refining goes on, but the wicked are not separated. We call the wicked rejected silver, because You have rejected them.

Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for us, when You restore the fortunes of Your people.

Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full; the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.

And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head, and a sharp sickle in His hand. And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, because the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

In the house of Israel, You have seen a horrible thing; Ephraim’s harlotry is there, Israel has defiled itself. An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priest rule on their own authority; and Your people love it so! But what will I do at the end of it?

Also, among the prophets of Jerusalem You have seen a horrible thing: the committing of adultery and walking in falsehood; and they strengthen the hand of evildoers, so that no one has turned back from his wickedness. All of them have become to You like Sodom, and her inhabitants like Gomorrah.

In the house of Israel, You have seen a horrible thing; Ephraim’s harlotry is there, Israel has defiled itself.

Israel’s prophets see falsehood and lying divination who are saying, ‘Jehovah declares,’ when Jehovah has not sent them; yet they hope for the fulfillment of their word.

“If a man walking after wind and falsehood had told lies and said, ‘I will speak out to you concerning wine and liquor,’ He would be spokesman to this people.”

Also, among the prophets of Jerusalem You have seen a horrible thing: the committing of adultery and walking in falsehood; and they strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one has turned back from his wickedness. All of them have become to Me like Sodom and her inhabitants like Gomorrah.”

And as raiders wait for a man, so a band of priests murder on the way to Shechem; surely, they have committed crime.

When You would heal Israel, the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, and the evil deeds of Samaria, for they deal falsely; the thief enters in, bandits raid outside.

Will we steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and offer sacrifices to Baal, and walk after other gods that we have not known, then come and stand before You in this house, which is called by Your name, and say, “We are delivered!’ – that we may do all these abominations?

There is swearing, deception, murder, stealing, and adultery. We employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed.
