Deuteronomy Chapter 30

Omniscient – You know everything.  You know Moses.  You know his heart.  You know me.  You know my heart and my mind.  You know how to teach me.  You know what You have done and what You will do.  You know why You will do it.  You know what You mean.  You know the past and the future.  You know me My LORD.  You are all-knowing.

Omnipotent- You can do anything.  You bless who You want and curse who You want.  You change their heart if You want.  You command Moses to command Israel.  You lead them and guide them.  You will do all that You say.   Faith is not just knowing that You can do what You say, but that You will do what You say.  You make the word very near.  You can make me understand if You just want to.  You can change my heart.  You are all powerful.

Omnipresent – You are everywhere.  You are at the ends of the earth and in the land.  You are in heaven and beyond the sea.  You are in my mouth and in my heart.  You are in Your WORD.  You are here with me. You are all-present.

Eternal – You are time.  You are when and then.  You are today.  You are in all my days.  You are the cause of time.

Immutable – You do not change.  It shall be when all these things have come upon you  me, the blessing and the curse which I  You have set before you  me, and you  I call them to mind in all nations where the LORD your  my God has banished you   me…  You I will return to the LORD your  my God.  Choose life in order that you (I) may live, me and my descendents.  You will never be made to change.

Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself.  You will exist even when Your creation does not.  You choose.  You decide.  You make up Moses’ existence.  You make up Your Word’s existence.  You make up my existence.  You decide who lives and who dies.  You make up my existence.  It is Your creation who needs You in order to exist.

Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose.  You choose to use Moses and Your Word and Your blessing and Your curse and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.

Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion.  If their outcasts are at the end of the earth, from there You My God will gather Israel, and from there You will bring them back.  You are generations of fathers.  There is no limits to Israel’s descendants.    You are limitless.

Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation.  You teach me about You.  You teach me Your foreknown plan.  You teach me what I will do and what You will do.  You teach me that Your law is not too difficult or out of reach for me.  You teach me that Your law is life and prosperity, death and adversity.  This is Your wisdom and understanding.  I trust You.  I believe You.  You teach me about Your incomprehensibleness.  You know everything and can do anything.  You know the future and what You will do and what I shall do.  I do love You and I am trying to walk in Your ways and to keep Your commandments and Your statutes and Your judgments.  You say that I can, that it is not too difficult for me.  If You know all that how do I know that?  It’s my heart I should be able to know it.  It is my own future, I should be able to know it.

Sovereign – It is You I worship.  If I don’t, then You must be the One I worship the most.  You can read my heart, please let me know what it says.  You know who I am.  You teach me and guide me and tell me the future.  Why?  You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!

Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being.  You separate me by Your truth through You Son for Your purpose.

Merciful – You show Your compassion through Your prophecy to restore Israel from captivity, and You will gather Your people again from all the peoples where You My God has scattered them.  You will gather me to Your place.

Gracious – You show Your favor by giving me Your Word revealing to me what You will.  You slowly let me see and let me hear what I can handle.  You know my fears and my worry and my dread.  Yet, You know I am impatient.  You know I give up easily.  You show me Your favor by meeting me and being My God.  Thank You My LORD.

Righteous – You are always right.  You teach the right way.  Your ways and commandments and statutes and judgments are Your way.

Just – You reward (bless) the righteous who listen to You and obey You, You atone for sin, and You punish (curse) the unrighteous.

Longsuffering - You are patient with Your people and slow to anger.  You know my grumbling and that I am tired.  You know what You ask of me is hard, I am but dust.  Only You truly believe in me.  You know and You understand.  Thank You My LORD.  How do I know that I am doing okay and that right now I am pleasing to You?  Are my bangs okay?  Is make up and accessories and dressing up okay?  My work of Lessons and volunteering and classes okay?  My studying and being behind but wanting to understand You more and more okay?  Will You let me learn even more about You today if I am still (or ever was) acceptable before You My LORD?  Please.

Loving – You love Your people and You take care of them.  You give them what they need even if they don’t know they need it.  You get me out of the house so that I may love it.

Good – You give Your people a part of Yourself.  You give me Your blessing and Your curse to teach me about Yourself.  You give me Your commandments and Your statutes and judgments and You make me holy.  You help me to believe.  You teach me what is evil so that I may know good.  It is like what Frances said “We will never know how our brain works because we are too close to it.  We cannot step outside our brain to look at it, to know how it works.”  You let me step out of my boundary in order to see into it AND You help me to see that I can expand my boundary.  WOW!  Thank You so very much My LORD.

Wise – You teach me how to be Your people, Your possession.  In order to be a pleasing possession, You teach me how to be holy to You and how to be loving to You.  You teach me how to return to You and how to obey You.  Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom.  Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.

Truthful - You always speak the truth.  The things You will do is reality.  You will restore Your people from captivity, and have compassion on me, and will gather Your people again from all the people where You have scattered them.  And You will bring Your people into the land which their fathers possessed and they shall possess it; and You will prosper us and multiply us more than their fathers.  You will circumcise my heart and the heart of my descendants, to love You My God with all my heart and with all my soul, in order that I may live.  You will inflict all these curse on my enemies and on those who hate you me, who persecuted me.  You will prosper me abundantly in all the work of my hand, in the offspring of my body and in the offspring of my cattle and in the produce of my ground, for You will again rejoice over me for good, just as You rejoiced over Your people’s fathers.  The word is very near me, in my mouth and in my heart, that I may observe it.  I believe You My LORD.  I don’t understand, I don’t see how, I am afraid I won’t remember, but You are Jehovah God.  You are omnipotent and sovereign.  I believe You will do as You say.

Faithful – You always do what You promise.  “Faith is not just knowing that You can do what You say, but knowing that You will do it.”  Will I do what Your WORD commands me?  Is Your covenant with me?  Is all that You say in my heart and in my soul?  You bring Your people into the land You promised their fathers.  You circumcise their heart and the heart of their descendants.  You make them Your treasured possession and You are their God.

Wrathful - You destroy all unrighteousness.  You inflict all Your curses on Your people’s enemies and on those who hate me, who persecuted me.

Jealous – You will not share Moses or Your people or me or Your Word, who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.  If my heart turns away and I will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, Moses/Jesus/Your Word/You declares to me today that I shall surely perish.  I shall not prolong my days in the land where I am crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it.

Incomprehensible – I do not understand My LORD.  Your curses will help me to return to You and obey You with my heart and soul.  Your blessings are to compare Your curses and help me to choose You.  If I have a reason, then I am motivated to return to You and obey You with my heart and soul.  I do understand!  That is so cool!

When You take Your people away from Your land and into captivity, then they see their land and freedom from the outside looking in to understand why they need to do what they are supposed to to get back there.  They will appreciate it, and love You and obey You more.

You love even the outcasts so much You are willing to go to the ends of the earth wherever that may be, from there You are willing to gather us, and from there You are willing to bring us back.

Not only do You tell me the future of what You will do, but You tell me of Your love of what You are willing to do.  What am I willing to do?  How are You able to know what You are willing to do?  What am I willing to do?  What am I willing to do to get all of my lessons in and homework done by Dec. 1st?  What is You will?  How do I know that of myself?  How do You know that of Yourself?  I must be acceptable to You for You to reveal to me that about Yourself My LORD.  Thank You.

You are willing to let me live.  You are willing to circumcise my heart and the heart of my descendants.  I am willing to love You My God with all my heart and with all my soul no matter if I live or die or if I possess land or not.  I am willing to love You without any covenant or blessings.

Is inflicting all Your curses on me worse that leaving me?  Your curses are negative attention, still attention from You.  Your curse are still attention to Your children.  Turning Your face away and not listening at all and leaving would be worse than curse or even death.  Before I was alone, and now I am not.

No one else is willing to go to the ends of the earth for me or to have His own and only Son die for me so that I can be acceptable to You.  No one ahs faith in me or is willing to love me like You.

I am so glad, so very happy that I am acceptable to You My LORD.  THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING to me.  I am stupid, blind, and deaf, but I am pleasing to You and I am going to be brave and courageous.  I believe You My LORD.

How do I obey You my God to keep Your commandments and Your statutes which are written in this book of the law?  How do I turn to You My God with all my heart and soul?  How do I know?  How do I listen to Moses a man You have commissioned but still a man?  How do I listen to Your Word?  How do I not grumble against Your Word?  How do I know that Your commandments are not too difficult for me or out of my reach?  You know and I know how stupid I am and how forgetful and stiff-necked I am.  I am afraid I will let You down.  I know Your Word is with me always, but as so as I put this book down I forget Your Word.  I do not know it.  I have a hard time observing Your commandments and doing them.  I know Your Word and Your commandment are not beyond the sea.  I do not study hard enough; I am not here long enough to observe it.  I know the word is very near me, in my mouth and in my heart, but I am too quick to dismiss Him or tell Him ‘but no, My LORD’.  You know me, You know my heart.  How do I have Your faith My LORD?  How do I have Your willingness?

Why does it say ‘I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; in that I command you today to love the LORD your God (third person about You)…”  Why “I”?  Your commandments, Your Word, it is You speaking.  Is he not treating You as holy?  Does Jesus ever say “Do as I command you”?

How do I do all that he commands me, to love You, to walk in Your ways and to keep Your commandments and Your statutes and Your judgments?  My LORD, do You know that You do not have to do anything that You say in order that I may do all You command me to love You or to walk in Your ways?  I want to.  I only want to know You.  It is not in my heart to live and multiply.  You do not have to bless me in any land; You’ve already blessed me in the knowledge of You.

How do I not turn away from You?  How do I obey You?  How do I not be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them?  How do I learn the difference?  How do I gain the strength not to and to do what I am suppose to do?  How will I know what to do?  Will I make the right decisions?  I shall surely perish.  Heaven and earth is witness against me today because You know me.  You know how awful I am and untrustworthy and worthless.

Why do I want to live My LORD?  I am so tired.  Will You make me live just because I love You and I want to obey You and I am trying to hold fast to You?  Will You make me live and grow old?  Will You make me live, in a land You swore to other father’s, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them?  I am trying so very hard to understand and to do what I am supposed to do My LORD.
