Deuteronomy Chapter 11

Omniscient – You know everything.  You know me.  You know my mind.  You know my heart.  You know my mind.  You know Your blessing and Your curse.  You know the past and the future.  You know Your Word.  You are all-knowing.

Omnipotent- You can do anything. You are in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt and in all his and; and what You did to Egypt’s army, to its horses and its chariots, when You made the water of the Red Sea to engulf them while they were pursuing Israel, and You completely destroyed them.  You lead me.  You teach me.  You make me understand if You just wanted to.  You are all-powerful.

Omnipresent – You are everywhere.  You are at the Red Sea and in the wilderness and at this place.  You are every place all of the time.  You are on Mount Gerizim ad on Mount Ebal.  You are in Your WORD.  You are in my heart and in my soul and in my mind.  You are here with me.  You are all-present.

Eternal – You are the cause of time.  You are this day and today.  You are from the beginning even to the end of the year.  Yu are days and seasons.  You are forever and ever.  You are time.

Immutable – You do not change.  I shall therefore keep every commandment which Moses/Jesus is commanding me today so that I may be strong and go in and possess the land into which I am about to cross and possess it; so that I may prolong my days on the land which You swore to my fathers.  You will shut up the heavens so that there will be no rain  My days and the days of my sons may be multiplied on the land which You swore to my fathers to give them, as long as the heavens remain above the earth.  You will never be made to change.

Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself.  You will exist even when Your creation does not.  You make up Your creation.  You make up Israel’s existence.  You make up Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben’s existence.  You make up Your blessing’s existence and Your curse’s existence.  You make up Your Word’s existence.  You make up my existence.  You choose.  You decide who lives and who dies.  It is Your creation who needs You in order to exist.

Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose.  You choose to use Israel and Moses and Dathan and Abiram and Your blessing and Your curse and Your commandments and me and Your WORD because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.

Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion.  You are as long as the heavens remain above the earth.  You are when my fathers were and to their descendants.  You are limitless.

Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation.  You teach me about Yourself and Your heavenly throne.  You teach me about Your wisdom.  You teach me to love You My God and always keep Your charge, Your statutes, Your ordinances, and Your commandments.  I may be strong and go in and possess the land into which I am about to cross to possess it.  I shall therefore impress these words of mine on my heart and on my soul; and I shall them as a sign on my hand and the they shall be a s frontals on my forehead.  You give me Your blessing if I listen and Your curse if I do not listen.  You are wise because You know all of these things.  You know everything.

Sovereign – It is You Israel worships.  It is You I worship.  You lead me.  You give me your commandments.  You give Your blessing and Your curse.  You give Your statutes, Your ordinances and Your commandments.  You know what You are doing.  You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!

Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being.  You separate Israel for Your purpose.  You separate me by Your truth through Jesus Christ for Your purpose.

Gracious – You show Your people Your favor by leading them and being their God.

Merciful – You show Your people Your mercy and compassion by Your discipline – Your greatness, Your mighty hand, and Your outstretched arm.

Righteous – You are always right.  You teach the right way.  Your charge, Your statutes, Your ordinance, and Your commandments are the right way, Your way.

Longsuffering - You are patient with Your people and slow to anger.

Just – You punish all unrighteousness, You atone for sin, and You reward the righteous who follow You and listen to You.  You bless and You curse.

Loving – You love Your people.  You take care of them and give them what they need.

Good – Your discipline and Your land and Your wisdom You give to Your people from a part of Yourself.

Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do the things You do.  You give me important information about Yourself and Your heavenly throne. Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom.  Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.

Truthful - You always speak the truth.  Your Word is all Your reality.  You will do what You say.  When will Your truth be in my heart?  When will I know it?

Faithful – You swore to my fathers to give to them and to their descendents a land flowing with milk and honey.  You promised to write Your charge, and Your statutes, and Your ordinances and Your commandments on my heart and upon my mind.

Wrathful - You destroy all unrighteousness.  You curse those who do not listen to Your commandments, those who turn aside from the way which Moses is commanding me today by following other gods which I have not known.

Jealous – You will not share Moses or Jesus or Your Word or me, who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.  I shall be careful to do all the statutes and the judgments, which Moses is setting before me today.

Incomprehensible – I know this day Moses (Jesus) is not speaking with my sons who have not known and who have not seen the discipline of You My God.  – Your greatness, Your mighty hand, and Your outstretched arm, and Your signs and Your works which You did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt and to all his land and all that You have done.  I know.  I have seen.  How do I put all of Your words and Your wisdom in my heart and in my mind?  How do I remember and do everything?  How do I have self-control and obedience?  How do I tear out my brain and my heart?

The nations don’t fear me.  They don’t dread me.  How do I not welcome them in?  They are not my friends.  Every place on which the side of my foot shall tread shall be mine?  There shall no man be able to stand before me?  I am so tired.  Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom My LORD.

·      Wisdom – Ex 28:3; Job 11:6; Ps 111:10; Prov 1:7; Mic 6:9; Mark 6:2; Luke 2:52; 1 Cor 1:20; James 1:5

·      For sound wisdom has two sides – wise in heart and mighty in strength

·      The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments

·      …But it any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
