Omniscient – You know everything. You know Your covenants. Your covenant in the land of Moab was and Your covenant at Moab was Your promise to Israel. The LORD our God made a covenant with Israel at Horeb. The LORD did not make this covenant with their fathers, but with us, with all those of us alive here today. You were there. You know Your covenants. So, at Mr. Horeb (I thought is was at Mr. Sinai) You gave Israel Your Ten Commandments. It must be the same place. The covenant is we shall obey the 10 commandments and You will be our God. So then the covenant at Moab is, what is the covenant? To do all the Ten Commandments AND t love You and to teach them diligently to my son and to bind them on my hand and to write them on the door posts and eat and be satisfied. I shall not put You my god to the test, as You have been tested at Massah. AND You make us a holy people to You my God; You have chosen Israel to be a people for Your own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth? Is that the same as Your covenant with Abraham? No, was it just the land Your promised Abraham? I don’t know. You know. So now is the time You separate Israel for Your purpose? Wasn’t that at Mr. Sinai? When My LORD will You give me a heart to know and eyes to see and ears to hear? You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent – You can do anything. You make a covenant and an oath with Israel and with whoever You want. You establish Your name today as Your people and that You may be MY GOD, MY GOD, MINE, ME, PLEASE My LORD. Please make me understand. You can give me a heart to understand, eyes to see, and ears to hear if You just wanted to. You can change me. You can teach me. You do Your will. You are all powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are in the land of Moab and at Horeb. You are in the land of Egypt. You are in the wilderness. You are in heaven and on the earth. You are in Your Word. You are here with me. You are in my heart and in my mind. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are this day and today. You are when and then. You are generations. You are now and forever. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. I will keep the words of this covenant to do them that I may prosper in all that I do. You will never be made to change.
Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation. You teach me the words of the covenant which You commanded Moses to make with the sons of Israel in the land of Moab. You teach me to listen and to follow Your Word. You teach me to stand before You My God. You teach me the covenant and oath is also for me as I was not there then. I am of Israel today? Your chosen Israel? You teach me about the land generations to come. You teach me that the secret things belong to You my God, but the things revealed belong to me and to my sons forever, that I may observe all the words of this law. You teach me You are Immutable in Your secret things and revealed things. You do not change.
Sovereign – You reveal the things You want to. You bless me. It is You I worship. You are in my heart. You are with me. You are my God. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You separate me by Your Word through Your Son for Your purpose.
Gracious – you show Your favor by giving the words of this law and making Your covenant.
Merciful – You show Your compassion by teaching me what to do and what is expected of me for my own good to be pleasing to You.
Righteous – You are always right. You teach me the right way. All that You command is Your way.
Longsuffering – You are patient with me and slow to anger. You help me when I need help. You are with me.
Just – You reward the righteous who listen to You, atone for sin, and punish the guilty who are against You.
Loving – You love me and You take care of me. You make sure I have food to eat and clothes to wear and shelter and the medicine I need, all to survive. You prosper me and multiply me and give me a bigger frying pan.
Good – You teach me your Word and about Yourself and Your heavenly throne. You make me live. You are changing me. You will not let me go.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do the things You do to give me information about You. Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom. Your thoughts are greater than my thoughts.
Truthful – you always speak the truth. Your word is reality. You are immutable so everything You say and do will not change. The secret things belong to You my God, but the things revealed belong to me and to my sons forever, that I may observe all the words of this law.
Faithful – You always do what You promise. You make Your covenants with Israel at Horeb for them to know You are the LORD God. You are Jehovah. You are my God and I am Yours.
Wrathful – You destroy all unrighteousness. Every curse which is written in this book will rest on the man or woman, or family or tribe whose heart turns away from you My God, and you will blot out his name from under heaven.
Jealous – You will not share me or Israel, who are rightly and morally yours, with any other creature.
Self- Existent – You exist by Yourself. You do not need any of Your creation in order to exist. You choose. You decide. You make up Moses’ existence. You make up Your Word’s existence. You make up Israel’s existence and the nation’s existence. You make up those who follow You and those who turn from You. You make up my existence. You decide who lives and who dies. You will exist even whey your creation does not.
Self- sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation in order to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use Moses and Your Word and Israel and the nations and those who follow You and those who turn from You and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. There are no limits to generations to come or forever. You know everything and can do anything and be everywhere. You are limitless.
Incomprehensible – You put the plagues on Egypt and the Pharaoh, all his servants and all his land until every firstborn died and they let Israel go. Those were the great trials and great signs and wonders. Why haven’t You My LORD give me a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear? Why am I here then? Why haven’t You given Israel a heart and eyes and ears?
· What was the covenant You made with Israel at Horeb? What is the covenant You made in the land of Moab? Who is ‘I’ in verse 5? Who is ‘I’ in verse 14? Why is Israel here? Why have You not given them the ability to know You or to see you or to hear You? I understand why You have not given these things to me because I am nobody. I am worthless and certainly not deserving. I wouldn’t know what to do. I lack faith and hope My LORD. But why not Israel? Is 6:9, 10; Ezek 12:2; Matt 13:14; Acts 28:26, 27; Rom 11:8
· Am I understanding You My LORD? Am I seeing and hearing? Am I being healed? I am working on it My LORD. I love You My LORD and at least LOVE covers a multitude of sins. Am I being rebellious and stubborn? Am I being my own nature? Am I on good soil My LORD? Will I bear fruit? A hundred fold, or sixty, or thirty? As soon as I close the book I fall away and I forget.
· How had their clothes not have worn out on them My LORD? How had their sandals not worn out on their foot? Why? What does this mean? You were leading them and not letting their clothes or sandals wear out? You were taking care of them. Who is speaking? You or Moses? Why does it switch back and forth My LORD? Who is who?
· Why does verse 7 repeat about Sihon and Og? What does this mean? Why is it repeated?
· Do I stand before You MY LORD? How may I know? How may I enter into Your covenant and into Your oath? How will I know? Will You or have You established me today as Your people? How do I know? Will You be My God? Is ay You are, but do You feel the same way? Do You know that I am a failure and a cheater?
· Did Israel generation after know Your covenant? If Your word was lost how would they remember or know?
· What are the things revealed My LORD? What do I know? What am I learning? How will I know? Who am I?
