Deuteronomy Chapter 28

Omniscient – You know everything.  You know Your blessings and all of Your curses.  You know Israel’s lives shall hang in doubt before them; and they shall be in dread night and day, and have no assurance of their life.  You know they will say “Would that were evening!”  and “Would that it were morning!”  because of the dread of their heart which they dread, and for the sight of their eyes which they shall see.  You know me.  You know my heart and You know my own dread.  Although, I don’t know if it is this.  You know me My LORD.  You are all-knowing.

Omnipotent- You can do anything.  You bless whoever You want to.  You curse whoever You want to.  You smite whoever You want to.  You plague whoever You want to.  You destroy those who do not listen and You scatter whoever You want to.  You make me understand if You just wanted to.  You are all-powerful.

Omnipresent – You are everywhere.  You are in the city and in the country.  You are when I come in and when I go out.  You are in the land.  You are in the heavens and over the entire earth.  You are in all the towns throughout the land.  You are from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth. You are in Your WORD.  You are in my heart and in my mind.  You are here with me. You are all-present.

Eternal – You are the cause of time.  You are today.  You are when and then.  You are in the morning, at noon, and in the evening.  You are now.  You are time.

Immutable – You do not change.  The man will not give even one of his children any of the flesh of his children which he shall eat.  All the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD.  All these curses shall come upon Your people and pursue Your people and overtake Your people until they are destroyed.  You my LORD will delight over Your people to make Your people perish and destroy them.  My live (?) shall hang in doubt before me (?).   You will never be made to change.

Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself.  You will exist even when Your creation do not.  You choose.  You decide.  You make up Your blessing’s existence.  You make up Your curses’ existence.  You make up all the peoples of the earth.  You make up Your Word’s existence.  You make up my existence.  You decide who lives and who dies.  Your creation needs You for their own existence.

Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose.  You choose to use  Your blessings and Your curses and Your people and Moses and Your WORD and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.

Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion.  There are no limits to Israel’s fathers.  There are no limits to the kingdoms of the earth.  There is no limit to continually or forever.   You are limitless.

Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation.  You teach me about You.  You teach me about Your blessings and what will happen to me if I listen and obey You.  You teach me about Your curses and what will happen to me if I do not listen or obey You.  You will make the pestilence cling to me and You will smite me.  You teach me how hard I will have to work for nothing or for very little.  You teach me about the nation that will be against me.  You teach about the plagues, diseases, and sicknesses that will be upon me until I am destroyed because I do not listen to You or obey You.  I am trying to understand My LORD.  I am trying to know You.  You teach me about Your truthfulness and Your blessing and Your curse.  You will do what You say.

Sovereign – You give Your blessing to who You want.  You curse whom You want.  You make Your blessings and Your curses.  You make Your plagues, diseases, and sicknesses.  You bring a nation from far away, as the eagle swoops down, a nation whose language Israel does not understand.  It is You I worship.  You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!

Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being.  You separate Your people for Your purpose.  You separate me by Your truth through your Son for Your purpose.  Even those who will be destroyed, separated for Your purpose to destroy them.

Gracious – You show Your favor by giving Your truths.  You teach me Your ways and Your righteousness.  You show me how to get Your blessings.

Merciful – You show Your compassion by having Your blessings and Your curses so that I may fear You and know Your commandments.  You teach me to fear You.

Righteous – You are always right.  Your blessings and Your curses are the right way.  You teach the Your way.

Just – You reward the righteous who listen to You and obey You with Your blessings, You atone sin with sacrifices to You, and You curse those who do not listen to You.

Longsuffering - You are patient with Your people and slow to anger.  You give us Your commandments to follow.

Loving – You love Your people and You take care of them.  You will set Your people high above all the nations of the earth.  All these blessings shall come upon Your people and me and overtake me, if I will obey You my God.

Good – You give Your people a part of Yourself.  You give Your blessings and Your commandments for us to follow in order for me to please You.

Wise – Your wisdom cause You to do the things You do.  Your blessings and curses are Your wisdom good for teaching and giving me information about You.  Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom.  Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.

Truthful - You always do what You say.  You will bless and You will curse.    Faith is not only believing that You can do it, but that You will it.  It is reality.

Faithful – You always do what You promise.  You have brought curses and plagues, diseases and sicknesses.  And it shall come about that as the LORD You delighted over you me and Your People to prosper me, and multiply me, so You will delight over me to make me perish and destroy me.

Wrathful - You will destroy all unrighteousness.  You will curse those who do not listen to You or obey You.

Jealous – You will not share me or Your people who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.  I am rightly and morally Yours.

Incomprehensible – Why do You bless the way that You do?  Why do You curse more than You bless?  Why do You curse the way that You do?  Did You bless the Egyptians house on account of Joseph?  Did You bless them in the city, and bless them in the country and so forth?  Aren’t they against You because they serve other gods?

·      Are Your curses all Prophecies?  You know they will happen?

·      You had said You would blot out man whom You have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for You are sorry that You had made them.  So why don’t You?  Why Your curses instead?  Why do You delight over us to make us/me perish and destroy me?  Why go through all of this?  How do I not make You sorry for making me?

·      Hope – n (expectation) – Job 17:15; Ps 9:18; Ps 39:7; Ps 71:5; Prov 19:18; Jer 17:13; Ezek 27:11; Acts 23:6; Rom 5:5; Rom 12:12; Rom 15:13; 1 Cor 9:10; 1 Cor 13:13; Gal 5:5; Eph 1:18; Col 1:23; Col 1:27; 1 Thess 5:8; Titus 3:7; 1 Pet 1:3; 3:15

·      For Thou art my hope; O LORD God, Thou art my confidence from my youth.  Why My LORD?  Why are You my hope?  How do I know discipline?  How do I know what is right and what is wrong?  Who do I do it?  What am I supposed to do?  What hope My LORD?

·      PERSEVERANCE, PERSEVERANCE!!  PERSEVERANCE!

·      Tribulation bring about PERSEVERANCE; and PERSEVERANCE, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

·      I don’t understand My LORD.

·      …that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ (You My LORD), the Father (You) of glory, may give to you me a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him You.  I (Paul?  Your Word?  Your Son?) pray that the eyes of your my heart may be enlightened, so that you I may know what is the hope of His Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of His Your inheritance in the saints.

·      Please, please My LORD listen to him.

·      How do I put on a helmet, the hope of salvation?

·      How do I hope for eternal life when I am afraid tomorrow will come?

·      What is the hope that is in me?

·      What is Your calling My LORD?

·      Hope – v (expect with confidence) – Job 13:15; Ps 38:15; Is 59:11; Jer 13:16; Matt 12:21; 1 Cor 13:7; Eph 1:12; Phil 2:19; Heb 11:1; 2 John 12

·      For I hope in Thee, O LORD; Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.

·      Encouraged – will it be okay Jehovah My God?

·      Now faith is the assurance of thing hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  What are the things hoped for My LORD?  I fear I lack faith My LORD.  I do fear.

·      But I am here My LORD.  I search Your WORD.  I seek You.  I seek faith, love, hope, patience, and all of the fruit of the Spirit.  I seek Your approval and Your encouragement My LORD.
