Leviticus Chapter 14
Omniscient – You know everything. You know what to say to Moses and to Moses and Aaron. You know who to give leprosy to and what house You will give leprosy to. You know what this means. You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent- You can do anything. You give leprosy to who You want. You make unclean those who You want. You make clean those who You want. You have it written down for me to know and to study for Your purpose. You are all-powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are outside the camp and in the midst of Israel. You are at the doorway of the tent of meeting. You are in the leper’s heart and the priest’s heart. You are here with me and You are in my heart. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are seven days, You are the seventh day, and the eighth day. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. The priest shall make atonement on the one to be cleansed behalf before You. The priest shall make atonement before You on behalf of the one to be cleansed. Not everything in the house need become unclean. The priest shall look at the mark, and if the mark on the walls of the house has greenish or reddish depressions, and appears deeper than the surface – it shall be quarantined for seven days. The priest shall make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean. You will never be made to change.
Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself. You make up Your creation’s existences. You make the priests to exist. You make Your infection to exist. You make leprosy’s existence. You decide. You make my existence.
Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use the priests’ and infections and leprosy to teach what is clean and what is unclean because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. There are no limits or bounds to leprosy, and to what is clean or unclean.
Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation. You give the law for any mark of leprosy – even for a scale, and for the leprous garment or house, and for a swelling, and for a scab, and for a bright spot – to teach when I am unclean, and when I am clean?
I want to listen. I must listen. I try to predict, visualize, and make connections. I am trying to organize, summarize, and take notes. I am trying to evaluate Your message; I want to have discriminative listening as well. That is four listening ways. What else do I need to be doing?
I hope that I have gone through all of the ranks of thinking up to at least evaluation. I want to synthesize Your Word. I am trying.
Leprosy – infection, cedar wood and scarlet string and hyssop and Your rituals are all symbolic of what? He shall wash his clothes and be clean. On the eighth day, a wave offering? Ram of ordination? To ordain and consecrate the one to be cleansed as You had done to the priests? But not priests? What does that mean?
Make atonement for the person who goes astray when he sins unintentionally.
Num 12:1-15; 2 Chr. 26:14-21; Luke 5:12-14; Luke 17:11-19
Make a guilt offering, be clean. If too poor the priest shall value him on the eighth day.
Is this Your blood of the covenant?
The mark of leprosy.
Mark – Ezek 9:4; Rev 14:9; 19:20
…put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sign and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst. This is what You are doing in Iraq and You are starting from Your sanctuary. Ex 12:7, 13; Ezek 9:6; 2 Cor 1:22; 2 Tim 2:19;
Rev 7:2,3; 9:4;14:1; Ps 119;53, 136; Jer 13:17; Ezek 6:11; 21:6
And another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God…
Rev 13:16 – And he (the beast) causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the freemen and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead…
Rev. 19:80 – the mark of the beast
Is the mark of the beast a mark of leprosy? Can I see the mark? Is it those who go the Church or those who vote? How do I know? Everyone will have a mark? Mark to save and mark to destroy? What is the truth?
Sovereign – It is You who speaks to Moses and to Moses and Aaron. You teach when we are unclean, and when we are clean. You gave the law of leprosy. You had it written down and protected it generations for me to read it and to know it. It is You Israel worships. It is You I worship and listen to. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You separate/sanctify the clean from the unclean, for Your purpose.
Gracious – You show Israel Your favor by allowing the unclean to become clean again.
Merciful – You show Israel Your compassion by not destroying all unclean and showing how to live clean. You show Israel how to be cleansed.
Righteous – You are always right. Your altar and Your offerings and Your laws are the right way.
Longsuffering – You show Israel Your patience and are slow to anger. You separate the unclean from the clean.
Just – You punish the guilty, cover over those who are guilty, and reward the righteous.
Loving – You love all of Israel both the clean and the unclean and show them how to be clean.
Good – Your offerings and laws teach us what the difference is and where we want to be.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to give the infection of leprosy and Your laws.
Truthful – What You say is reality. You speak the law of leprosy to Moses and to Aaron.
Faithful – You always do what You say. You promised, “When You enter the land of Canaan, which I give you for a possession and I put a mark of leprosy on ah house in the land of your possession…”, then that is what will happen.
Wrathful – You will destroy all unrighteousness.
Jealous – You will not share Israel who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.
Incomprehensible –
Dear Jehovah God, I so want Your name and Your son’s name written on my forehead. Is this only after those with the mark of the beast are destroyed?
Verse 34 is the covenant You made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
You say, You promise no evil will befall me, nor will any plague come near my tent? How does a house become infected? Copy of the heavenly things? How does this relate to me? Jesus is the cornerstone. In my heart? My heart becomes infected? My mind becomes infected? My soul?
Am I living in an unclean place outside the camp?
Cedar wood and a scarlet string and hyssop…
Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow…
Clean – Ps 51:10; Is 1:16; Matt 8:2; Luke 11:41; John 15:3
Cleanse – 2 Cor 7:1; James 4:5; 1 John 1:7
You are already clean because of the Word, which I have spoken to You.
