Leviticus Chapter 7
Omniscient – You know everything. You know Your guilt offering and Your sin offering and Your grain offering and Your burnt offering and Your ordination offering and Your peace offerings. You know what they mean to the sons of Israel and to the sons of Aaron and to You and me know what they mean to You. You want to accept us and this is a way for us to be accepted before You. You know Your future. You know my future. You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent- You can do anything. You give the offerings to Israel and You put it into their hearts and mind to do them. You give Your laws and ordinances to Moses to give to the sons of Israel. You call me and You do not release me until You say. You are all-powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are on Mount Sinai and in the wilderness of Sinai. You are among the sons of Israel and You are in their hearts. You are here with me and You are in my heart. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are a day and a second day and a third day. You are forever and ever. You are today. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. If any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings should ever be eaten on the third day, he who offers it You will not accept him, and it shall not be reckoned to his benefit. You decide, You know. You will never be made to change.
Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation. You teach Israel and me about You and Your ways through Your offerings. You tell us the right way to be accepted before You. You tell Moses all of Your laws and ordinances to tell Israel. You tell Jesus all of Your laws and ordinances to tell Me. I’m just slow and stupid. Jesus teaches me how to be accepted before You.
Sovereign – It is You who gives the offerings and the ways they are to be performed. You give very specific instructions. It is You the offerings worship. Israel works for You. They are, I am Your slave. If You keep me busy, I might stay out of trouble. It is You who gives Your offering for Israel to perform for You. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You sanctify Your offerings for Your Purpose and You consecrate all those who offer up Your offerings.
Gracious – You show Israel Your favor by accepting them through their offerings to You. You share what is Yours with the sons of Aaron.
Merciful – You show Israel your compassion by giving them a way to be accepted before You.
Righteous – You are always right. You teach the right way and how to be accepted.
Longsuffering – You are patient with Israel and with Aaron and with me and slow to anger.
Just – You punish the guilty and give the guilty to be covered up and reward the righteous.
Loving – you love Israel, You love me, and You give me a part of Yourself through Your word and by Your offerings.
Good – Your offerings give a way to make atonement for us that You can get closer to us.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to give the law of Your offerings as You do.
Truthful – What You say is truth. Your offerings are reality and they are true.
Faithful – You do what You promised. Your offering allows Israel closer to You to be Your people and You are their God and You are my God.
Wrathful – You will destroy all unrighteousness.
Jealous – You will not share Your offerings or Israel with any other creature. They are rightly and morally Yours.
Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself. You make up Moses’ existence and Israel’s existence and ALL OF YOUR OFFERING EXISTENCE. You make them up. You make them happen. You make my existence.
Self-Sufficient – You do not need Israel or any of Your offerings to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use them because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your purpose or Your nature or Your person or dominion. There are no limits to forever.
Incomprehensible – Who are the priests today? If Jesus is Moses and my High Priest are there any other priests? Does Jesus have a share in my offerings? In Israel, the offerings meant they could eat. Today, do my offerings mean anything? Do they do anything for You or for Jesus? Who serves as priest to You? I believe Jesus is the only priest and the only prophet today and that human priest are not Yours. Is that truth?
Why is the breast and the right thigh important? What do they mean? How does all of this relate to me? What am I supposed to understand and know?
