Deuteronomy Chapter 26

Omniscient – You know everything.  You know what to have Your people say to the priest.  You know what Your people will say before You.  You know what I will say even before I say it.  You know the questions of my heart.  You know the questions in my mind.  You know my fears and my weaknesses.  You know Your Word.  You know me.  You know my heart and my mind.  You are all-knowing.

Omnipotent- You can do anything.  You give Your people land to possess.  You choose the place to establish Your name.  You make the priest and put it into his heart.  You put Your words in my mouth.  You teach me what to say.  You remind me of the past. You make me understand if You just wanted to.  You are all-powerful.

Omnipresent – You are everywhere.  You are in the land and in jEgypt.  You are in the place You choose.  You are in Your holy habitation, in heaven.  You are in Your WORD.  You are with me. You are in my heart and in my mind.  You are all-present.

Eternal – You are the cause of time.  You are then and when.  You are this day and at that time.  You are in the third year, the year of tithing.  You are today.  You are time.

Immutable – You do not change.  You state Your purpose.  You teach me Your commandments.  You will never be made to change.

Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself.  You will exist even when Your creations does not.  You make up Your inheritance’s existence.  You make up Your Levite’s existence and the alien’s existence.  You make up Your tithing’s existence.  You make up Your purpose’s existence.  You choose.  You decide who lives and who dies.  You make up my existence.  It is Your creation who needs You in order to exist.

Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose.  You choose to use Your place and the Levite and the alien and the orphan and the widow and tithing and Your commandments and Your purpose and Your WORD and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.

Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion.  You can do whatever You want whenever You want.  You are limitless.

Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation.  You teach me about what to do when I enter the land.  You teach me about tithing and Your purpose.  This day the LORD my God commands me to do these statutes and ordinances.  I shall therefore be careful to do them with all my heart and with all my soul.  I have today declared Jehovah to be my God, and that I would walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments and His ordinances, and listen to His voice.  And Jehovah has today declared me to be His people, a treasured possession, as He promised me, and that I should keep all His commandments and that He shall set me high above all nations which He has made, for praise, fame, and honor; and that I shall be a consecrated people to Jehovah My God, as He has spoken.  You teach me about Your faithfulness.

Sovereign – It is You I worship.  You lead me.  You teach me.  You choose to establish Your name.  You put the priest who is in office at that time.  You make Israel a great , mighty and populous nation.  You had the Egyptians treat Israel harshly, and afflicted them, and imposed hard labor on them.  You heard Israel’s voice and saw their affliction and their toil and their oppression.   You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!

Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You separate the priest who is in office and the Levite and the alien who is among me and the orphan and the widow for Your purpose.  You separate me by Your truth through Your Son for Your purpose.  You separate me by Your truth through Your Son for Your purpose.

Gracious – You show Your people Your favor by giving them the produce from their land.  You give them a place where You choose to establish Your name.  You give them the land to possess.

Merciful – You show Your favor to Your people by hearing Israel’s voice and seeing their affliction and their toil and their oppression; and You brought Israel out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror and with signs and wonders; and Your brought them to this place, and had given them to the place, and had given them this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Longsuffering - You are patient with Your people and slow to anger.  You teach Israel and lead them to Your place.

Just – You reward the righteous who listen to You, atone for sin, and punish the guilty.

Righteous – You are always right.  You teach the right way.  Listening to You and following Your commandments and tithing and walk in Your ways and keep Your statutes are Your way.

Loving – You love Your people and You take care of them.  You give them what they need.  You give them land and the produce of their hand.  You bless them.  You give them purpose and direction.

Good – You give Your people a part of Yourself.  You are Israel’s God, and I am Your people, a treasured possession.  You give me Your statutes and ordinances and Your commandments to be Your people and to know You.

Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do the things You do.  Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom.  Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.

Truthful - You always speak the truth.  Your Word is always Your reality.

Faithful – You always do what You promise.  You have today declared me to by Your people, a treasured possession, as You promised me, and that I should keep all Your commandments, and that You shall set me high above all nations which You have made, for praise, fame, and honor; and that I shall be a consecrated people to You my God, as You have spoken.

Wrathful - You destroy all unrighteousness.  You purge the evil from among Your people.

Jealous – You will not share Your People who are rightly and morally Yours, with any other creature.

Incomprehensible – What is the produce I bring in?  Where shall I take it?  Where do You choose to establish Your name?  Will I say all that Israel has said?  How does this relate to me?  Do You hear my voice and see my affliction and my toil and my oppression My LORD?  Will You bring me out of Egypt?  Where is Egypt?  What is it?  What is the produce of my hand?  Will I set it down before You My God, and worship before You my God?  Will I rejoice?  What is the tithe of my increase?  Will Is ay before You My God everything Israel said?  How will I do all of these statutes and ordinances?  How do I be careful to do them with all my heart and with all my soul?  Am I Your people?  What does this mean?  What am Is supposed to do?  What am I supposed to learn?

Are You talking to me My LORD?  Am I ‘you’?  Or are You speaking to a chosen nation some 3,000 years ago?  How do I know?  How do I put it into my heart and in my mind?  How do I have faith?  Am I one of your children My LORD?  Will I ever mature?

·      Children of God – John 1:12; 11:52; Rom 8:16; 1 John 3:1, 2, 10; Gal 3:26

·      To those who believe in His name – Jesus’ name – John 1:7; 3:18; 1 John 3:23; 5:13

·      The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.  Acts 5:32; Hos 1:10; Matt 5:9; John 1:12; Rom 8:14, 19; 9:8; 26; 2 Cor 6:18; Gal 3:26; 1 John 3:1; Rev 21:7

·      Heirs also – Acts 20:32; Gal 3:29; 4:7; Eph 3:6; Titus 3:7; Heb 1:14; Rev 21:7; 2 Cor 1:5, 7; Phil 3:10; Col 1:24; 2 Tim 2:12; 1 Pet 4:13

·      I am a child of the devil My LORD.  No matter how hard I try I do not believe or know that I will ever become a child of God.  I do not practice righteousness nor do I love my brother like I should.  I’m awful.  I cannot do anything right.  How do I change my heart?

·      For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.  Do I have faith in Christ Jesus?  Rom 8:14; Gal 4:5; Rom 8:1; Gal 3:28; 4:14; 5:6, 24; Eph 1:1; Phil 1:1; Col 1:4; 1 Tim 1:12; 2 Tim 1:1; Titus 1:4

·      I believe THE WORD OF GOD, YOUR ONLY BEGOTTEN SON.

·      Am I baptized into Christ, have I clothed myself with Christ?  What about my evil desire?
