Omniscient – You know everything. You know what this chapter is about. You know what You are teaching me. You know I am missing a lot. You know me. You know my heart. You know my mind. You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent- You can do anything. You can jump and skip and go back and forth & totally confuse me. You can make me understand if You just wanted to. You make me understand if You just wanted to. You are all-powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are in the midst of Israel. You are in the land of Egypt and in the wilderness and on the mountain. You are in heaven and in Your Word. You are here with me and in my heart and in my mind. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are today. You are forty days and nights. You are the day of the assembly. You are now and forever. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. You will subdue nations before me, so that I may drive them out and destroy them quickly. You were so angry with me that You would have destroyed me. JESUS turned and came down from the mountain while the mountain was burning with fire. Jesus took my sinful thing and burned it with fire. Jesus fell down before You the forty days and nights, which He did because You had said You would have destroyed me. You will never be made to change.
Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself. You will exist even when I do not. It is Your creation who needs You in order to exist, You choose, You make up Israel’s existence and Moses’ existence. You make up Jesus’ existence and Your Word’s existence, You make up Satan and his demon’s existence. You make up my existence. You decide who lives and who dies.
Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use Moses and Israel and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice. You explain to me why You do things so that I understand who You are.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. You are indefinite, beyond my own thoughts or imagination. I have limits and bounds. You do not fall and break Your elbow. You do not fail. You have all the time and can do anything. You are limitless.
Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation. You teach me about You. You teach me about Your wrathfulness. You can hear my heart. You know I am rebellious against You. You are wrathful because I make You angry. You are a consuming fire. I must not be rebellious toward Your Son. I am prone to evil. You can be wrathful.
Sovereign – You speak Your WORD. You teach me about Your wrathfulness. You lead me. You put into my heart and write in my mind all of Your Words. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You separate Israel for Your purpose. You separate me by Your truth through your Son for Your purpose.
Gracious – You show Israel Your favor by leading them to cross over the Jordan today to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than they, great cities fortified to heaven. You are awesome!
Merciful – You show Israel Your compassion to have them know You are crossing over before them as a consuming fire and You are giving them good land to possess.
Righteous – You are always right. You teach the right way. Your wrathfulness is right.
Longsuffering - You are patient with Israel and slow to anger. You warn them beforehand.
Just – You and reward the righteous who follow You, atone for sin, punish the guilty.
Loving – You love Israel and You take care of them. You give them what they need.
Good – You give a part of Yourself to Israel. You give them Your land and Your commandments and You lead them.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do what You do to teach me and instruct me. Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom. Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.
Truthful - You always speak the truth. Your Word is reality. Israel is Your people, even Your inheritance, who You have brought out by Your great power ad Your outstretched arm.
Faithful – You always do what You promise. You remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You do not look at their stubbornness or at their wickedness or at their sin. You have confidence in Yourself to do what You have in Your heart.
Wrathful - You destroy all unrighteousness. You drive nations out before Israel because of the wickedness of these nations.
Jealous – You will not share the sons of Israel who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature. You cross over the Jordan before Israel as a consuming fire. You will destroy them and you will subdue them before me, so that I may drive them out and destroy them quickly, just as You have spoken to me.
Incomprehensible – Nations greater and mightier than me, great cities fortified to heaven just as the sons of Noah said “A tower whose top will reach into heaven” and You confused their language. I feel as Israel felt My LORD. I know You are crossing over before me as a consuming fire. I know Yu will destroy them and You will subdue them before me, but how do I drive them out and destroy them quickly? It is certainly not my righteousness You have brought me in to possess the land. NO WAY. I can’t do anything right. It is not or my righteousness or for the uprightness of my heart that I am going to possess their land. It is simply because they are more wicked than I am and they don’t care nor do they love You. I am unrighteous and stubborn. I bring out Your wrath and anger and I can’t do anything right.
Wrath – Deut 29:28; Ps 6:1; Ps 79:6; Prov 15:1; Jer 4:4; Ezek 5:13; Matt 3:7; John 3:36; Rom 3:5; Col 3:6; Rev 6:16
· The things revealed belong to me and to my son forever, that I may observe all the word of this law.
· “Pour out thy wrath upon the nations which do not know Thee, and upon the kingdoms which do not call upon Thy name.”
· “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
· “If our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? The God who inflicts wrath is not unrighteous, is He? May it never be! For otherwise how will God judge the world?” I don’t understand My LORD. Why? My standard I have to live by is “I shall not murder”. The fruit of the spirit is love, PEACE, gentleness, self-control, etc. “Shall not the Judge of earth deal justly”? What is JUST? Is it just to punish the guilty by destroying them?
· “Therefore consider the members of my earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. For it is on account of these things that the wrath of God will come.” How do I do that? How do I not do ALL of that? Who IS able to stand My LORD? How do I NOT DO these things? How do I do all that You ask of me, My LORD?
