Leviticus Chapter 17

Leviticus Chapter 17

Omniscient – You know everything.  You know what to say to Moses.  You know what to have Moses say to the sons of Israel.  You know that I will read it.  You know what this means.  You know the difference between the parenthesis’s and the quote marks and who is speaking.  You know Your reasons.  You know my heart AND my brain.  You are all-knowing.

Omnipotent- You can do anything. You have Moses do all that he does.  You have Aaron and his sons do all of Your instructions and statues and laws.  You put it into the sons of Israel’s hearts.  You can make me understand.  You can make me know.  You keep me from sinning against You.  You keep me from getting sick.  You are all-powerful.

Omnipresent – You are everywhere.  You are outside the camp, You are Inside the camp.  You are at the doorway of the tent of meeting.  You are in the sons of Israel’s hearts.  You are here with me.  You are in my heart.  You are all-present.

Eternal – You are the cause of time.  You are days, and until evening You are generation and forever and ever.  You are time.

Immutable – You do not change.  He shall pour out a beast or bird’s blood and cover it with earth.  Sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to You.  You will never be made to change.

Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself.  You will exist even when the sons of Israel do not.  It is Your creation who needs You to exist.  You make up our existence.  You make up Moses’ existence, Aaron, and his sons existences.  You make up the sons of Israel’s existence.  You make up Your permanent statutes existence.  You make up my existence.  You choose.  You decide.

Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose.  You choose to use Moses, Aaron and his sons, and Your permanent statute because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.

Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion.  There is no limit or bounds to a permanent statute.  Permanent is forever.  There are no limits or bounds throughout their generations.  Generations can go on forever and ever.

Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation.  You are apart from Your creation.  You teach Moses what to say to Aaron and his sons.  You have it written down that I may know Your permanent statute.  I must listen.  I predict this is just not about hunting and buying its blood.  I do not think this is about Jesus’ blood or about his sin offering. What are sacrifices to goat demons?  I visualize a person eating blood, I think it is raw and blood drips from the pieces.  I do not know if the meat I eat if the blood has been poured out and cover with dirt.  I must cook hamburger and not eat it raw.  Assigning each attribute is organizing and summarizing.  Your purpose is to tell me what You do not like and the way in how You want it done.  You reveal Your jealousy and wrathfulness and love.  There is great emotion in Your statue.  I am trying to distinguish sounds and to develop a sensitivity to Your nonverbal communication.

Sovereign – You speak to Moses.  You cut off a person from his people.  You are loving and You become wrathful.  It is You the sons of Israel worship.  It is You I worship.  You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!

Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being.  You sanctify blood for Your purpose.

Gracious – You show the sons of Israel Your favor through blood that You have given us on the altar to make atonement for our souls.  It is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.  It is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.  Life for Life, soul for soul.

Merciful – You show the sons of Israel Your compassion through Your statute to keep them from being bloodguilty.

Longsuffering – You are patient with the sons of Israel and slow to anger.

Just – You punish the guilty, cover the guilty, and reward the righteous.

Righteous – You are always right.  You teach me Your right way.

Loving – You love the sons of Israel and the soothing aroma to You.

Good – You give Your statute to be their God and for them to be Your people to sanctify them to You.

Wise – Your wisdom causes You to give information about Yourself and Your heavenly throne.

Truthful – What You say is always truth.  Bloodguiltiness is to be reckoned.  Peace offerings are important.  Pour out its blood and cover it with earth.

Faithful – You always do what You what You say.  The life of the flesh is in the blood, and You have given it to me/us on the altar to make atonement for my/our souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.

Wrathful – You will punish all unrighteous and cut him off from among his people.

Jealous – They shall no longer sacrifice their sacrifices to the goat demons with which they play the harlot.  You will not share the sons Israel who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.

Incomprehensible – What does Your reasons mean?  Which altar is vs. 6 and in verse 11?  What is the difference between “marks and ’quote’ marks?  He or You said and what he quoted You as saying?  In vs. 12, who is I?  Moses or You?  Is vs. 14, who is I?  Moses or You?

You are Omnipotent My Lord, why do You go through such great lengths?  I am tired and I am confused My LORD, and I am getting frustrated.  When will You come for me?  When do I get to rest? I hate leaving You.  I don’t want to stop.  I don’t want to leave You.
