Numbers Chapter 21
Omniscient – You know everything. You know Israel will vow to You. You know they will know that they have sinned. You know to make a fiery serpent. You know they will begin to worship the fiery serpent. You know where they will go. You know where they will end up. You know what this means. You know me. You know my heart. You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent- You can do anything. You have the Canaanites, the king of Arad, take some of Israel captive. You put it into Israel’s hearts to make a vow to You. You destroy the Canaanites and the Amorites and Bashan. You send fiery serpents to bite and kill Israel. You make it so they may live. You put it into my heart. You lead me. You are all-powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are in the Negev and at Hormah and at Mount Hor. You are in Oboth, Iyeabarim, and Wadi Zered. You are in Arnon, Ar, and Beer. You are in Mattanah to Nahaliel and from Nahaliel to Bamoth. You are in the midst of Israel. You are here with me. You are in my heart. You are in Your Word. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are the first month. You are 3,000 years ago. You are forever and ever. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. Jesus took the rod from before You, just as You had commanded him. Israel, the righteous angels, turned away from Edom. Israel, the righteous angels, made a vow to You and said, “If You will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I, Israel, will utterly destroy their cities.” The people came to Jesus and said, “We have sinned…” The people said that because many people of Israel died. Sihon gathered all his people and went out against Israel in the wilderness. Let the city of Sihon be established. Israel killed Og the king of Bashan and his sons and all his people, until there was no remnant left him. You will never be made to change.
Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself. You will exist even when Your creation does not. It is Your creation that needs You for their existence. You decide. You choose. You make up Israel’s existence. You make up the Canaanites’ existence. You make up a fiery serpent’s existence. You make up the Amorites and the Bashan’s existence. You say who lives and who dies. You make up my own existence.
Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use Israel, the fiery serpents, the Canaanites, the Amorites and Bashan and Your righteous angels and Your unrighteous angels because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. You are forever and without boundaries. You are without limits.
Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation. The Canaanite are a nation of unrighteous angels with the king of Arad being their king takes some of the righteous angels captive. Israel cannot live in peace. In one voice, they vow to You to destroy their cities. And You heard them, so they did. The people spoke against You and Jesus, again. You send fiery serpents to bite them, so that many people of Israel died. You had Jesus make a bronze serpent for them to look at and live. Israel, the righteous angels, are a nomadic people wandering in the wilderness. The Amorites are another nation of unrighteous angels with Sihon being their king. Sihon, king of the Amorites had fought the former king of Moab and had taken all his land out of his hand. Unrighteous angels are fighting among themselves, wars killing each other, taking from each other. Bashan is another nation of unrighteous angels with Og being their king. Israel killed Og the king of Bashan and his sons and all his people, until there was no remnant left him. Israel, the righteous angels, possessed Og’s land.
Sovereign – It is You who leads Israel. You put the idea of Your angels in my mind. You lead me. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You separate Israel for Your purpose. You make Israel separate from all of the nations.
Gracious – You show Israel favor by delivering up the Canaanites and helping them.
Merciful – You show Israel Your compassion by having Jesus make a bronze serpent to look at to live.
Longsuffering – You are patient with the Israel and slow to anger.
Just – You punish the guilty, cover sin, and reward the righteous.
Righteous – You are always right. You teach the right way.
Loving – You love Israel, Your righteous angels. You take care of them and lead them.
Good – You give Israel everything they need and You scourge Israel to teach them the right way. For those whom You love You discipline and You scourge every son whom You receive.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do the things You do to give us information about You and Your heavenly throne. Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom. Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.
Truthful – You always speak the truth. Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that then everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he shall live. You also say, “Do not fear him, for I have given him Og, King of Bashan into Jesus’ hand, and all his people and his land; and Jesus shall do to him as he did to Sihon, King of the Amorites, who lived at Heshon. You are reality.
Faithful – You always do what You promise. You deliver nations into Israel’s hand to possess the land. You promised them. You are with Israel and they do all that You command.
Wrathful – You will destroy all unrighteousness. You use Israel to destroy the unrighteous nations.
Jealous – You will not share Israel or Your land what is rightly and morally Yours with any other creature. Your fire devours Ar of Moab, the dominant heights of the Arnon.
Incomprehensible – What does verses 14 and 15 mean? What is the Book of the Wars of You? Kings? Chronicles? What or where is Wahab in Suphah, and the wadis of the Arnon, and the slope of the wadis that extends to the site of Ar, and leans to the border of Moab? It sounds like a description of someplace perhaps? Why is it said? What does verse 17 and 18 mean? Why does Israel sing this? Did the leaders’ sink it? Which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter and their staffs? Should they be singing to the well? Are they singing ‘to it’ Didn’t You provide the well? What does verse 27-30 mean? Is Sihon Zion? The Amorites inhabited Heshbon? Israel, Your people, lived among the unrighteous angels? Surrounded by unrighteous nations of Angels? What does all of this mean? How does it relate to me? How do I fit in? What am I supposed to know?
· Michael – Dan 10:21; 12:1; Jude 9; Rev 12:7
· Dan 10:21 – There is no one who stands firmly with me against these forces except Michael your prince.
· Dan 10:13 – But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me Gabriel for twenty one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I Gabriel had been left there with the kings of Persia.
Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise.
And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. And the dragon and his angels waged war…
