Numbers Chapter 12
Omniscient – You know how Miriam and Aaron feel about Moses (Jesus?) wife. You know Miriam’s heart and Aaron’s heart. You know this is the second time Aaron has gravely sinned against You, yet it is Miriam You punished. You know the reason. Perhaps Miriam was the instigator and Aaron’s just a follower. You know Aaron, perhaps he will follow anyone, including You. You know me. You know my heart. You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent- You can do anything. You hear their complaining. You speak to Moses (Jesus) mouth to mouth. You make Miriam leprous, as white as snow. You have her shut up for seven days outside the camp. You do not move on until Miriam is received again. You then move out from Hazeroth and stop in the wilderness of Paran. You make change into a new person. You make me a teacher. You comfort me and don’t let me give up. You are all-powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are in the tent of meeting. You are in the midst of Israel. You are outside the camp. You are in Hazeroth and in the wilderness of Paran. You are here with me. You are in my heart. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are for seven days. You are forever. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. Moses (Jesus?) and Aaron (Gabriel?) and Miriam came out to the tent of meeting. The anger of You burned against them and You departed. Miriam was shut outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until Miriam was received again. You will never be made to change.
Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself. You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your pursuit? Pursuit of what? You made Miriam exist. You made Aaron’s existence. You choose. You decide. You make-up my existence. You make us exist knowing what we will do and why. You make Your Word to exist.
Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use Miriam and Aaron and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice. You choose to use Your visions and Your dreams and Your Word.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. You teach what You want and You are without limits, forever and ever. You do whatever You want whenever You want.
Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation. You teach me that I should be afraid of Moses and to not speak against Your servant, against the WORD, Your Son, JESUS. I must have an infection and be shut up outside the camp. Jesus prays to You for me to heal me.
· Jesus is the faithful servant.
· Faithful – Rev 19:11; Rev 13:14; 1:5; 3:7
· Servant – Gen 9:25; 1 Sam 3:9; Ps 31:16; 2 Cor 3:6; 2 Cor 11:23; 1 Tim 4:6
o 1. a person employed to perform services, esp. household duties, for another. 2 a person employed by a government 3. A person devoted to another or to a cause, creed, etc.
o Slave – Jer 2 14; Matt 25:21; Eph 6:6; Matt 24:45, 47; 25:23
o Doing the will of God from the heart.
Sovereign – You speak to Moses (Jesus) mouth to mouth. You speak in vision and in dreams. You give us Your infection. You keep us shut up outside the camp. It is You who teaches me about You. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You separate Moses, Aaron, and Miriam for Your purpose. You separate Miriam for Your purpose.
Merciful – You show compassion by not having the people move until Miriam was received again.
Gracious – You show favor to Moses by standing up for him in front of Aaron and Miriam.
Righteous – You are always right. You teach the right way. You teach not to speak against Your servant.
Longsuffering – You are patient with Aaron and Miriam and slow to anger. Aaron and Miriam are still alive.
Just – You punish Miriam for speaking against Moses, and then receive her again, after seven days.
Loving – You love Moses and fight for him. You do not let Aaron or Miriam hurt Moses.
Good – You corrected Miriam rather than annihilating her. You wrote it down for me to ponder. You stand up for Moses.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do the things You do to teach me about Yourself and give me information. Your wisdom is higher than my wisdom.
Truthful – You always speak the truth. You said to Moses and to Aaron and to Miriam, “You three come out to the tent of meeting”, and it was reality. You speak truth.
Faithful – You always do what You promise. You promise Moses “Certainly I (You) will be with him…” “…And Israel will pay heed to what you he (Moses) say…”
Wrathful –You punish the unrighteous. You destroy all unrighteousness.
Jealous – You will not share Moses who is rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.
Incomprehensible – Moses was very humble, more than any man who was on the face of the earth. What does this mean? Humble – having or showing a consciousness of one’s defects or short comings; not proud; not self-assertive; modest 2. Low in condition, rank, or position; lowly, unpretentious [a humble home].
· Humble – Ps 37:11; Prov 11:2; Zech 9:9; Matt 11:29; Phil 4:12; James 4:6
· “Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.” How do I become humble? What does this mean? How does it relate to me? Does it mean You will stand up for me? Am I humble? Am I holy? No one, no unrighteousness is to touch me? Anyone who speaks against me, is also against You? Is this just a promise of millions of years – future events? How can this be? I am not like Moses or Your Son. I am untrustworthy and unfaithful. You do not speak to me mouth to mouth, do You? I am hard of hearing, obstinate, and very slow. I do not even understand Your dark sayings. I do not know the very form of You. I am not worthy.
