Leviticus Chapter 22
Omniscient – You know everything. You know what to day to Moses. You know what to have Moses say to Aaron and his sons and to the sons of Israel. You know the past and the future. You know me and You know my heart and my mind. You know how to teach me and how to make me listen. You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent- You can do anything. You have Moses speak to Aaron and his sons and to the sons of Israel. You will be sanctified among the sons of Israel: You are Jehovah who sanctifies the sons of Israel and me. You can make me understand. You can make me know all of Your commandments and do them. You are Jehovah. You are all-powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are in the land. You are in the midst of the sons of Israel. You are in their hearts. You are here with me. You are in my heart. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are a day, until evening and when the sun sets. You are a week, seven days and the eighth day. You are until morning. You are the past, the present, and the future. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. You have Moses say to Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they dedicate to You, so as not to profane Your holy name; You are Jehovah. They shall keep Your charge, so that they may not bear sin because of becoming unclean, and dies. Thereby because they profane it; You are Jehovah who sanctifies them. You cause them to bear punishment for guilt by eating their holy gifts; for You are Jehovah who sanctifies them. I shall keep Your commandments and do them: You are Jehovah. You will never be made to change.
Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself. You do need any of Your creation in order to exist. It is Your creation who needs You in order to exist. You make up our existence. You make up Moses’ existence. You make up the priests’ existence. You make up my existence. You make up Your commandments existence. You choose. You decide.
Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use Moses, Aaron, his sons, and the sons of Israel and Your commandments, and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. There is no limit to any man among all Your descendants throughout Your generations, or of the descendents of Aaron. You are forever.
Transcendent – Gifts – Num 18:32; Ps 127:3; Matt 2:11; Acts 2:33; Rom 1:11; Rom 6:23; 1 Cor 12:31; James 1:17
· Children are a gift
· Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
· The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ.
· Jesus our LORD.
Am I baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of my sins? Have I received the gift of the Holy Spirit?
Food – Prov 23:3; Matt 3:4; Matt 6:25; John 4:34; John 6:55; 1 Cor 3:2
· My food is to do the will of Jehovah God who sent Jesus Christ, and to accomplish His work. What is Jehovah God’s work for me? To study His Word and to know it?
· For Jesus’ flesh is true food, and Jesus’ blood is true drink.
· What is the flesh? Spirit – The WORD
· What is the blood? Sacrifice – the man
· Milk to drink, not solid food Heb 5:12; 1 Pet 2:2
· For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
· Like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the Word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation
· What is Your purpose?
How does this relate to me? What am I supposed to learn? How are You sanctified?
Sovereign – It is You the sons of Israel worship. You are Jehovah. You are Jehovah who sanctifies them. You will be sanctified. It is You I worship and only You I listen to. You speak only to Moses. You speak only Jesus. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You will be separated for Your own purpose among the sons of Israel and You separate them from ________? for Your purpose. How do i sanctify You?
Gracious – You show the sons of Israel Your favor by sanctifying them and accepting them.
Merciful – You show the sons of Israel Your compassion by teaching them how to be accepted and all the things they should not do to lose You.
Righteous – You are always right. You teach the right way. You show us how to follow the right way.
Longsuffering – You are patient with me and with the sons of Israel and slow to anger.
Just – You punish the guilty, cover the guilty, and reward the righteous.
Loving – You love me and the sons of Israel and You accept those who keep Your commandments and do them: You are Jehovah.
Good – Your offerings to You and their holy gifts and thanksgivings to You. I am Yours and You are my God and You give me Your grace to help in time of my need. You hear me.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to give information that reveals about Yourself and about Your heavenly throne.
Truthful – What You say is always truth. Tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they dedicate to You, so as not to profane Your holy name: You are Jehovah. Say to them… speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the sons of Israel, and say to them…
Faithful – You always do what You promise. You will be sanctified among the sons of Israel and You will be their God. You will be my God.
Wrathful – You will destroy all unrighteousness.
Jealous – You will not share the sons of Israel who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.
Incomprehensible – You only speak to Moses and then You have Moses quote You to the sons of Aaron and Israel. Verse 3 says not just among the people but cut off from before You. That is very serious.
· What are my holy gifts to You?
· Do I have the gift of the Holy Spirit? I must have because I am sanctified? I am being sanctified?
· To me what is ‘the food of my God’? Your WORD? Your instruction?
· All people have a defect don’t they? Physically, spiritually, mentally, morally? Does only physical defects count?
What does verse 31 and 32 mean?
How does this relate to me? Will I ever understand?
