Leviticus Chapter 24
Omniscient – You know Satan wins. You know Moses’ heart. You know he will do what You command. You know Israel’s heart. You know to speak only to Moses and then to have Moses speak to the sons of Israel. The sons of Israel listen to Moses. You know Me. You know that I sin. You know my heart. You are all-knowing.
Omnipotent- You can do anything. You have Moses command the sons of Israel. You make a lamp burn continually. You have twelve cakes on a pure gold table. You stone the sons of an Israelite woman whose father is an Egyptian. You are all-powerful.
Omnipresent – You are everywhere. You are among the sons of Israel. You are in their hearts. You are here with me. You are in my heart. You are all-present.
Eternal – You are the cause of time. You are days, months, years, and centuries. You are forever and You are continually. You are time.
Immutable – You do not change. They brought the son of the Israelite woman to Moses. And they put him in custody so that Your command might be clear to them. And if a man injures his neighbor, just as he ahs done, so it shall be done to him, just as he ahs injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him. You will never be made to change.
Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself. You do not need any of Your creation in order to exist. It is Your creation who needs You in order to exist. You make up the sons of Israel’s existence. You make up the son of the Israelite woman and the Egyptian man’s existence. You make up my existence. You choose. You decide.
Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose. You choose to use to use Your commandments and Your ordinances and Moses and the son of the Israelite woman and me because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.
Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion. There are no limits or bounds to a perpetual statute or throughout your generation that both carry on forever and ever. There are no limits to continually and forever.
Transcendent – You are apart from Your creation. You teach Your ways and about You. What does this chapter say about You? Your ways seem to be cruel and torturous. What am I supposed to learn? How does this relate to me? What are You teaching? What am I supposed to learn? I want to listen. I must listen. I predict this is a copy of Your heavenly throne. I sinned last night by bearing false witness against my neighbor. I talked about how they were angry with me about hermit crabs, which was not true at all. AND I am still sinning thinking horrible thoughts and being devious about someone I don’t even know. I visualize that man being pummeled with rocks until he dies. He would be very bloody. I am making connections through my own sins? Will I be cut off from You? Will I be stoned to death? Is it by You reading his heart and judging him?
Attributes are organizing Your information. You are omnipotent and therefore You help me get it all right and to keep it straight. What clues do You give me? What is Your purpose? To put fear in my heart? It’s working. Your message seems to be worship me or die. To check my heart? To see what I will do or think? To test me? To teach me about Your ways? What is Your purpose? My emotions are running rampant to the point of sinning against You. I am very emotional, very disturbed. Please teach me. I am trying to distinguish sounds and to develop a sensitivity to nonverbal communication.
What is in my heart? How do I apply this to my life? What is wrong with me? What is in my heart?
Sovereign – It is You Moses and the sons of Israel worship. It is You I am trying to worship. You wrote this down for me to read. You made me. You know what I am capable of. You know me. You know my heart and my mind. You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!
Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being. You sanctify the sons of Israel. You sanctify Your Sabbath day. Am I sanctified?
Gracious – You show the sons of Israel Your favor how? By killing the man and keeping the sons of Israel sanctified and from sinning against You?
Merciful – You show the sons of Israel Your compassion how? Compassion for the one who takes the life of an animal shall make it good, life for life? Compassion for a man who injures his neighbor, so it shall be done to him: fracture for fracture, eye for eye, and so forth? Is that what happen to Cain? Is fracture for fracture merciful?
Righteous – What You do is always right. Your judgments are always right. Your commandments are always the right things to do. Stoning the man and fracture for fracture are the right way.
Just – You punish the guilty, cover guilt, and reward the righteous. You punished the guilty. The man was guilty of blaspheming Your Name and cursing. Fracture for fracture, doing to me as I do to others is also punishing the guilty.
Longsuffering – You are patient with the sons of Israel and slow to anger.
Loving – You love me and You love the sons of Israel and give them commands and ordinances to protect them and to keep them sanctified.
Good – Your pure gold lampstand and Your pure gold table and everything You give to the sons of Israel. Your Word and Jesus’ body and His sacrifice that I may be accepted before You and everything You give me even though I do not deserve it and am not able to comprehend it.
Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do the things You do in order to teach me. You give important information about Yourself and Your ways.
Truthful – You always speak the truth. The lamp burns continually. Keep the lamps in order on the pure gold lampstand before You continually. Every Sabbath day 12 loaves of bread with pure frankincense set in order before You continually. There shall be one standard for me. You are Jehovah My God.
Faithful – You will write Your laws on my heart and put them in my mind. You will be My God and I will be Yours? You always do what You promise.
Wrathful – You will destroy all unrighteousness. You judge hearts and the man did not love You or care. You had all the congregations tone him.
Jealous – You will not share me or the sons of Israel who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.
Incomprehensible – What does vs. 2 and 3 mean? ‘From evening to morning’ is all night – ‘before You continually?’ ‘It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations?’ How long is that? What about today? Is it that long? But no my generations? What does light and 12 cakes mean? Why is gold italicized? What do I need to do? Why is vs. 10-16 with a lamp to burn continually and the bread of the Presence? The lamp and bread represent Jesus. Is this all about Jesus? The WORD OF God? Moses and Jesus the same? Moses did not act; he waited for Your command. Jesus waits for Your command? Why do You end this Chapter with vs. 17-23? What about mercy, and compassion, and forgiveness?
Why do You kill the person who blasphemes Your name? I blaspheme Your name upon my bed every time and yet I am not dead. Here I am right now blaspheming You. Why do You have the congregation lay their hands on the man and then they stone him with stones to death until he dies? Yet You say love Your neighbor as Yourself. Yet You say no man shall kill another human being? Why is that okay? It is a horrible way to die. Why is that okay? Why is killing someone okay when you have commanded it? What is the difference?
Are You forcing people to worship You? Do You have to put fear into them? My LORD, why am I not dead?
Why do I feel this way? I must lack faith My LORD It is not in my heart. I am trying…
What is wrong with me?
