Numbers Chapter 18

Numbers Chapter 18

Omniscient – You know everything.  You know what You are doing.  You know why.  You know Your angels and all of Your creation.  You know what You want.  You know what to say to Aaron (Gabriel).  You know their hearts.  You know the future.  You know me and You know my heart.  You know me.  You are all-knowing.

Omnipotent- You can do everything.  You give Gabriel the charge of the priesthood and all of the Seraphim to him to help him.  You give all the tithe to the Seraphim.  If my prayers are sacrifices for the angels to You then they must have to take care of us to do Your will.  Your angels must learn a lot from us.  Angels seem very human in nature.  Angels are immortal?  Perhaps not.  Angles are bigger, stronger, wiser, and older?  Perhaps not.  Angels are spirits without bodies?  Perhaps not.  You put it into my heart.  You are all-powerful.

Omnipresent – You are everywhere.  You are in the midst of the sons of Israel.  You are in the midst of Your angels.  You are here with me.  You are in my heart.  You are in Your Word.  You are all-present.

Eternal – You are the cause of time.  You are generations.  You are 3,000 years ago.  You are now.  You are forever and ever.  You are time.

Immutable – You spoke to Aaron (Gabriel) for him and his sons and his father’s household with him to shall bear the guilt in connection with the sanctuary; and him and his sons with him to shall bear the guilt in connection with his priesthood.  Gabriel shall attend to the obligations of the sanctuary and the obligations of the altar, that there may no longer be wrath on the angels.  The Seraphim shall also present an offering to You from their tithes, which they receive from the angels; and from it the Seraphim shall give Your offering to Gabriel the priest.

·       Human prayers & alms   Angels Seraphim               Gabriel & the priesthood         Jesus     Jehovah God

You will never be made to change.

Self – Existent – You exist by Yourself.  You do not need any of Your creation to exist. It is Your creation who needs You for their own existence.  You choose.  You decide.  You make up the sons of Israel’s existence.  You make Your angel’s existence.  You make up Your priesthood’s existence.  You make up my existence.

Self-Sufficient – You do not need any of Your creation to bring about Your will or Your purpose.  You choose to use Your Word and humans and angels and the priesthood because it is Your good pleasure, not Your need, that governs Your choice.

Infinite – There are no limits or bounds to Your person or dominion.  There are no limits to a perpetual allotment, or an everlasting covenant of salt.  There are no limits to you and your descendants with you.  There are no limits to a perpetual statute.  You are without any limits.

Transcendent – Am I leaning how to be a priest?  Is the Word of God, Jesus, teaching me how to be in Your priesthood?  Gen 14:18;  Ex 19:6; Lev 1:5; Lev 4:3; Lev 4:31; 2 Chr 15:3; Ps 110:4; Matt 2:4; Matt 8:4; Heb 2:17; Heb 4:14; Heb 5:6

·       Priesthood – Ex 40:15; Neh 13:29; Heb 7:24; 1 Pet 2:9

o   Jesus is a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek and sits at Your right hand.  Jesus is a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.  “But you I are A CHOSEN RACE, a royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s own POSSESSION, that your I may proclaim the excellencies of You who has called me out of darkness into Your marvelous light for I once was not A PEOPLE, but now I am THE PEOPLE OF GOD…”

o   Jesus is making us to be a kingdom, priest to His God and Father to You Jehovah My God.

o   What does this mean?

·       Gifts – Ps 127:3; Matt 2:11; Acts 2:38; Rom 1:11; Rom 6:23; 1 Cor 12:31; James 1:17

Gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.

The gift of the Holy Spirit

·       The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ

·       Jesus Our Lord.  Eternal life – Matt 25:46; Rom 5:21; Rom 8:38, 39

·       But earnestly desire the greater gifts.  And I show you a still more excellent way.  Which is what?

·       Every good thing bestowed (give; to give or present as a gift 2. To apply; devote [to bestow much time on a project]) and every perfect gift is from above… What is every good thing?  What is every perfect gift?

·       The heavenly gift is

2 Cor 4:4, 6; Heb 10:32; John 4:10; Eph 2:8

o   The light of the knowledge of the the glory of God in the face of Christ.

o   The gift of God is Jesus Christ.  For by grace I have been saved through faith; and that no of yourselves, it is the gift of God…

Sovereign – It is You who puts these questions in my head.  You are in complete control and You are doing Your foreknown plan!

Holy – You are a morally excellent, perfect being.  You separate the Levites and Your Seraphim Angels and Your priesthood for Your purpose.

Gracious – You show the Seraphim Your favor by giving them all the tithes.  You give them everything that is Yours.

Merciful – You show Your angles Your compassion by giving them one family to bear the guilt rather than all of them.

Longsuffering –You are patient with Your angels and slow to anger.

Righteous – You are always right and You teach the right way.

Just – You punish the guilty, atone for sin, and reward the righteous.

Loving – You love Your angels and You love Your seraphim and You take care of them.

Good – You give them what they need – the priesthood to take care of the guilt in connection with the sanctuary; and the guilt in connection with their priesthood.

Wise – Your wisdom causes You to do what You do to give me information about Yourself and Your throne.  Your wisdom is greater than my wisdom.

Truthful – You always speak the truth.  You tell Aaron (Gabriel) about his priesthood.  The priesthood is reality.

Faithful – You always do what You promise.  You make Your angels Your possession and You are their God.

Wrathful – You will destroy all unrighteousness.  Gabriel protects the sanctuary and the tent and its furnishings of the sanctuary and the altar.  AND he serves You that there may no longer be wrath on the angels or the sons of Israel.

Jealous – You will not share the angels, the Seraphim, Your people who are rightly and morally Yours with any other creature.

Incomprehensible – I am afraid to ask MY LORD.

·       Moses received the information about Aaron’s commission on Mount Sinai when he was gone for 40 days and Aaron was building  a gold calf idol.  Then Leviticus You spoke with Moses again about Aaron’s obligation.  Now You are speaking directly with Aaron about his and his son’s obligations.

o   I hope I forget the questions.  I hope I forget and do to make You angry or go against You.  The answer is always BECAUSE YOU ARE JEHOVAH GOD, and You can do anything You want.  I know my place.

o   The Levites are the ransom for all of the first-born males in Israel.  They have no inheritance in their land, nor own any portion among them; You are their portion and their inheritance among the sons of Israel.  What does it mean for You to be their portion and their inheritance?  How can God be a portion and an inheritance?  You have given the entire tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they perform, the service of the tent of meeting.  What does ‘all the tithe’ mean??

·       It is the Levites who determine valuation.  The Levites also paid the ransom of the 273 redeemed.  What is the covenant of salt?  They are to offer salt Lev 2:13

·       Which is the promise of all the offerings of the holy gifts, which the sons of Israel offer to You, You have given to Aaron and his sons and his daughters with him, as a perpetual allotment?  What does this mean?  How does it relate to me?
