Hosea 7:8

12/25/10

Dear Jehovah God,

Ephraim mixes himself with the nations; Ephraim has become a cake not turned.  But they mingled with the nations, and learned their practices.  And the sons of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and they took their daughters for themselves as wives, and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

Do not let me mix myself with the nations.  But how do I do that when I am born from the nations?  I am part of the nations and have always been.  I am a cake not turned – bunt, black.  Please do not let me mingle with the nations, nor learn their practices.  Please let me know the difference.  Not mingling is unsociable, even antisocial able.  How do I learn not to mingle with the nations, or how not to learn their practices?  Is it all spiritual nations, or foreign countries?  How do I choose not to mingle with them or learn their practices?  How do I know the difference?

I am just like Ephraim.  How do I not be like Ephraim?  I live among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; I have taken a husband for myself, and will give my son tot their daughters, and I serve their gods and I feel that I do not have a choice.

What am I to do?  How do I not mingle with the nations?  Teach me.  Teach me Your ways.  Amen, Amen, and Amen.
